Local guides

Local bird guides are available at a number of sites and are your best aid for locating and identifying many birds.

They live at or near these sites and their birding interest is nurtured by association with visiting scientists, birders and on occasion some formal training. They can identify the birds of their site, by sight and by their call, with ease, which is a tremendous help in some habitats.

It is advisable to contact the local guides association for available guides, if you will be spending time at a specific site. By using local guides not only do you increase your birding success, but you will be supporting site conservation by contributing to local income.
